A pianist from Japan will perform a benefit concert for Jacob Airappattu, 8,  of Gillette  at 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Shrine of St. Joseph, 1050 Long Hill Road, Stirling.

Airappattu was left with severe trauma to the brain after a hayride accident at the Shrine a year ago.

Yui Yabuto of Koke, Japan, will perform selections from Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Liszt and Rochmaninoff.

Donations are $25 for adults, $15 per child. Proceeds will benefit the  Airappattu’s continuing care. The family said it is working toward the day when he will be able to participate in an extensive inpatient physical therapy program to enhance the home care he receives.
